August 7th, 2009 — The annual Shepherd of the Hills Super Summer Cruise is coming to Branson this weekend and you won’t want to miss it. Have one last Summer blast as you see the classics cruise through town.
The annual Super Summer Cruise is one of the premier car events in Branson and the Midwest. Held the second weekend in August every year, this year’s cruise takes place August 6th through 8th. Get the weekend kicked off from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday at the Vehicle Show & Shine event at Shepherd of the Hills. There you can see over 500 classic and modern Ford, Chevy, Corvette models among others. Visit the Pavilion Theater that evening to see the Best in Show awards.
The real crown jewel of the show is the midnight cruise. This takes place at midnight on Saturday night, featuring a 3 mile parade of classic cars along Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. Be sure to camp out your seat early, as the sidewalks will be packed with people by the time the Cruise stars. There’s definitely no curfew for the car enthusiasts tonight!
Of course, with a late night like that you’ll want a nearby Branson log cabin to go home to. Thousand Hills is the perfect place, with a center of town location within walking distance of Shepherd of the Hills and the Cruise. The weather for the weekend is looking great, so a Branson MO cabin at Thousand Hills is an affordable home away from home perfect for all the Summer Cruisers.
