MATT DILLMAN, PGA PRO>>Hi! My name is Matt Dillman, head golf professional here at Thousand Hills Golf Resort in beautiful Branson, Missouri. Today I’m going to talk about the bump and run, and why we use the bump and run.
What I’ve got here is a long pin with a lot of green. The best way I can judge this shot is to get this ball on the green and rolling just like a putt. The way I’m going to do that? Today I’ve got my 8 iron. I’m going to play this a little further back in my stance and I’m not going to have a release with my hand. Just 1 piece, easy back, easy through, making sure to keep my club low to the ground.
Let’s see how this works out.
I think it turned out rather well. So if you’re ever in this situation, remember: get the ball on the green & let it roll.
