The Branson Scenic Railway first started as the White River Railway in the year 1902. It took three years after that to finish the construction of the railroad. The city of Branson reached new heights after the construction of the railroad, making the area accessible to Branson tourists.
The Branson Scenic Railway had its maiden trip in the year 1993 wherein it used a working commercial railroad line for it to travel. Its routes go either north or south only, and those routes aren’t fixed. The routes are yet to be determined just before the train departs. The train, when going north, can take you as far as Galena, Missouri in the James River Valley. When it is going south, you can go as far as Arkansas. Trips of the Branson train depart from the historic depot, which was built in 1905.
