The Table Rock Lake is one of the most popular lakes in the Branson TriLakes Area. The Dewey Short Visitors Center is a museum located directly off of Highway 165 next to the Table Rock Dam. It was named after Congressman Dewey Jackson Short, who was one of the biggest supporters of the project. He funded the dam project and thanks to him, construction began in 1954 and after 5 years, it was dedicated. The museum imparts the vision of the Congressman to the visitors and also features the events that took place when the dam was being built.
Looking deeper into the Dewey Short Visitors Center, it is a modern-style building near the shores of the lake. It has an outdoor viewing deck, a walking path, and a small rock garden with a wooden bridge. When you go inside the museum, there is a theater that shows a film about a damn on the right and a Discovery shop on the left.
