Branson in September is full of many different attractions, shows, festivals and events. Many are open year-round but September in Branson brings out several once a year specials that you will not want to miss.
One of the main attractions during September occurs when Branson turns into a haven for craftsmen. This is the perfect time to be able to view, study and purchase some of American’s finest crafts by professionals using tried and true methods of handcraftsmanship. One of the epicenters of craftsmanship in September is Silver Dollar City, a late 19th century theme park, opens the National Harvest Festival during September. Visitors to the festival can see over 100 professional craftsmen perform their art of craft. There will be a diverse group of craftsmen there from glassblowers and sculptors to chainsaw artists who use wood as their medium.
During the third week of September, the Autumn Daze Arts and Crafts Festival also attracts thousands of visitors to the historic area of Branson for a chance to see and purchase quality art and crafts. They also hold a judging contest for the best art pieces. Another major activity in Branson in September is the Southern Gospel Picnic at Silver Dollar City. This is a major festival for gospel music where you can hear the song of he gospel serenade the people on the hills of the Ozarks. This Picnic is also known for its tasty friend chicken in favorite flavors from Southern Fried to Chiptole.
For the athletes at heart, there is the Branson Ironman Triathlon held during September. Whether watching or racing, this is a race that usually goes through several popular areas of Branson including the Historic District. There are many other festivals during September such as a grape festival, and a Shepherd of the Hills festival. There are also theater shows, plays, concerts, and golfing available during September.
