Table Rock Lake at NightThe Tri-Lakes Area in and around Branson, Missouri, is known around the country for great fishing, hiking, bird watching, boating and more.  The Branson lakes have a rich history, and support a vast ecosystem on their shores and in their waters.  Haven’t had a chance to explore the Branson lakes yet?  What are you waiting for?

Bull Shoals Lake: Settled in southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas, the artificial reservoir of Bull Shoals Lake spans hundreds of miles, and features 19 parks around the lake, it is a prime location for swimming, fishing, boating and more.  The Bull Shoals Dam was built to impound the White River to alleviate flooding problems (like the Table Rock Dam). Bull Shoals sports its own state park for visitor enjoyment – the Bull Shoals/White River State Park.  This lesser known of the Tri-Lakes has a lakeside vacation resort, and offers some of the most unique scuba dive tours around for those who want a unique underwater experience. Bull Shoals Lake is a great source for Walleye, a popular Pan Fish in the Ozarks.  Catfish and bass can also be fished out of Bull Shoals. The lake features many hidden coves along the shore that make the perfect hiding place for finned friends.

Table Rock Lake:  If you are visiting the Branson lakes in the summer time, make Table Rock Lake your stop for swimming!  Many public areas allow swimming, but the crown jewel of swimming holes is Moonshine Beach – it’s the only spot on Table Rock that boasts real sand!  Moonshine Beach features picnic tables and grills, bathrooms, showers, and a playground.  Table Rock Lake is also beautiful setting for boating – it’s a great way to get a fresh take on the unique scenery surrounding the lake.  There are several boat slips along Table Rock – notable ones are at Table Rock State Park, and the State Park Marina.  If you don’t own your own boat, the marina has you covered, with boat rentals, tubing, water skiing, waverunners and more.

Lake Taneycomo:  The final lake in the Tri-Lakes region is Lake Taneycomo (short for Taney County Missouri).  This much colder neigShowtimer of Table Rock has some beautiful scenery and hiking trails bordering its shores; Taneycomo is a real hotspot for trout fishing, what with Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery being located right on the banks below the dam!  Brown trout and rainbow trout are some of the most prominent species of fish in this chilly Branson lake.

There are endless activities for you to enjoy when you visit the Branson lakes in the Tri-Lakes region.  Don’t wait to plan a lakeside trip at any of these unique bodies of water!
