Lodging Provider Thousand Hills Resort and other community members are pleased to welcome the newest addition to White Water amusement park. On May 17th White Water will open their 2014 season and a new ride, KaPau Plummet.
According to White Water Staff, the new water slide will bring a unique new twist to the classic water slide that park patrons are familiar with. The $1.7 million ride begins with two riders entering a enclosed chambers. After a short countdown the bottom of each chamber opens, dropping riders into free fall where they will race 26 feet per second through a 240-foot translucent loop before they splash into the final pool.
According to a park spokesperson, the key elements are the anticipation of the drop during the countdown and the translucent portions of the ride. In the launch chamber riders will be able to see the slide below them before they drop, and the other guests in the park will be able to see the riders racing through the translucent tubes.
Opening day for White Water will take place May 17th, 2014 and the season will run through September 7th. In addition to the new KaPau Plummet, White Water’s other family rides will be operational including the Wave Pool, Aloha River, Kailani Towers and more adding up to more than 2 million gallons of White Water entertainment.
