What makes Silver Dollar City a place that tourists often come back to is its endless list of activities and attractions. It has wood coasters, water parks, the best restaurants inside, and also a taste of the culture and the way of life back in the 1800s through the craftsmen present in every corner of the park. Silver Dollar City also hosts lots of festivals, so any time you’d like to visit, you’ll chance upon a unique festival in the theme park.
This March 2015, Silver Dollar City has opened a new attraction in the park – the Fireman’s Landing. This adds more family adventures in the park since this new area has six family rides and four interactive play zones. The Fireman’s Landing is centered around the headquarters of Fire Station #3, which includes the rides FireFall, the 8-story fire tower free fall drop ride; Fire Spotter, for spotting fire dangers; Fire Wagon Frenzy, a bouncing ride for bucket brigade volunteers; Lucky’s Dizzy Dogs, a bounce ride on Dalmatians running around a fire hydrant; Up The Ladder, a small tower drop ride for the little ones; and Fireman’s Flyer, a low-flying swing ride for the kids.
The new attractions in the Fireman’s Landing include the Firehouse Splash Yard, a play place with squirting water jets and pump hoses. There is also the Firefighter’s Fire Drill with buckets, pumpers, foam ball cannons and targets for battling mock fires. The Firefighter’s Escape is a fun obstacle course of tubes, mazes, and slides for everyone. For toddlers, they can have fun in the Firefighter’s Junior Escape.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy their time in Fireman’s Landing. This new attraction also aims to honor and salute the hardships of the community volunteer firefighters. It also gives the people awareness on how to handle fire. Plan your exciting and informative visit to Silver Dollar City with the whole family now.
