Rick Thomas’s career initially began with ballroom dance competitions where his sister, Tamara, was his dance partner. This brother sister duo were so good that they earned the title of Amateur United States Ballroom Dancing Champions when they were still teenagers. Along with dancing, Rick Thomas gained an interest in magic, and started performing shows at the age of 7. By the time Rick was 18, he was performing his own routine at the Disneyland Hotel. After two years, Rick branched out and performed on Disney cruises, and fairs and expos all across the country. He eventually ended up in Las Vegas, where he performed 600 shows a year, and met his performance partner, Tara, who came to Las Vegas after a long career as a ballet dancer with an interest in magic. Now, this magic couple wow crowds together with a brilliant combination of magic, music and dance.
Rick Thomas not only won awards for his spectacular ballroom dancing – he also holds many coveted titles in the world of magicians and illusionists. Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts and Stage Magician of the Year by the World Magic Awards are some of the larger awards he has been honored with; he also aired on numerous magical television specials including NBC’s ‘The World’s Greatest Magic.’
