The family-oriented amusement park at the Silver Dollar City has been entertaining visitors since 1960. Located in Branson, Missouri, Silver Dollar City is considered by many as the most popular vacation spots in the Midwest. This 1880s-themed park features dozens of exciting attractions, thrill rides, 40 entertaining shows, 60 plus unique shops and restaurants, six annual festivals, and scores of talented craftsmen and artisans. With such an array of attractions and events, Silver Dollar City has become a favorite annual destination for many families.
Crafts that are made and shown around every corner in the park are the highlights of Silver Dollar City. This fall season, there are over 100 craftsmen and women showing different kinds of crafts that were essentials in the 1880s. Blacksmiths who are at work show their talents to visiting tourists and some glassblowers turn a glass into a lovely flower vase. Silver Dollar City features 12 restaurants in the park that offer Ozark country cooking. Some of the fine restaurants in the park include Eva and Delilah’s Bakery; Aunt Pollys, known for its catfish and fried chicken; and The Ribhouse, known for its famous barbecue, smoked chicken, baby back ribs, and smoked brisket.
In Silver Dollar City, there are many festivals that are happening during fall season. One of this is the 41st Autumn Daze Arts & Crafts Festival that is held on September 18 to 20. In this festival, there will be sidewalk sale daily in downtown Branson from 9 am through 6 pm. The event features handmade craft items which are the best of Ozarks made by skilled craftsmen. In the festival there are no displays of factory produced merchandise but handmade crafts only.
Another big annual event in Branson is the 15th Hollister Fall Grape Festival that will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the historic Downing Street. The festival welcomes thousands of visitors to see the wonderful time of grape-stomping. The Monster Mash Street Dance is another annual event in Branson hosted by Branson Landing that is held on October 31, 2014. The fabulous street dance event starts at 6:30 pm and party goes on after 8:30 pm. be sure to attend this event with the whole family for an exciting night of shows and surprises.
Safe Street Trick or Treat at Branson Landing is another beautiful and exciting annual event happening in fall season. This time is great to have fun at Branson Landing for the 7th Annual Safe Street Trick or Treat event. Merchants at Branson Landing will be offering treats to Trick or Treaters on October 31, 2014 Monday from 5 pm to 7 pm. The same day a safe Halloween special is also held exclusively for children up to age 12. At the town square, don’t miss the witch with gobs of goodies stroll around the businesses with horrible Halloween costumes.
