With all of the amazing and interesting places to dine at in Branson, it can be overwhelming sometimes to decide where to eat. However, Branson is unique in the sense that besides the normal tourist traps Branson has to offer some of the best local restaurants around.
Danna’s BBQ
Danna’s BBQ is one of the best stops in Branson for good, old-fashioned family eats, and of course finger licking BBQ. In addition to BBQ pork, beef, and chicken, you can choose from nine different burgers ranging from the basic single cheeseburger, to Danna’s signature fat burger that has all of the normal burger fixings topped off with a fried egg. At this family owned restaurant, you will get classic BBQ, but also with a bit of a twist. Some of Danna’s best dishes are the BBQ Quesadilla, BBQ Nachos, and Stuff Baked Potato which comes loaded with butter, cheese, sour cream, coleslaw, beans, and your choice of either BBQ chicken, pork, or beef. And save room for dessert, because if you step into Danna’s without trying her Banana’s Foster or Brownie you are missing out. All of the dishes range from $3.75 for a single burger to their Smoked Pit Plate that can feed two for the price of $24.99. Danna’s BBQ is located at 963 St. Highway 165, Branson, Mo., 65616. Their telephone number is (417) 337-5527, and they open up at 11 a.m. every day but Sunday when they are closed.
Vasken’s Deli
After all that delicious home-cooking you are sure to encounter at Silver Dollar City, your stomach may be looking for something a little different, and at Vasken’s Deli that is just what you will find. Since opening in 1997, Vasken’s Deli, owned and operated by Vasken and Staci Haroutounian, has changed locations over the years, but their food certainly has not lost its home cooked appeal. Vasken’s Deli only brings in the best quality of food to serve its guest, and makes everything from scratch. From the charming atmosphere and open kitchen, you and your family can enjoy a little taste of the Mediterranean at Vasken’s you will not get anywhere else. Vasken’s gyro’s are authentic, but fussy eaters do not be weary, even a simple turkey sandwich is to die for a Vasken’s. You will find all of the normal Mediterranean dishes at Vasken’s from the Hummus dip, to their Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich. Vasken’s even has options for the vegetarian in the family with things like their Hummus and Falafel sandwiches. Vasken’s Deli is located at 1015 Highway 248 Suite D, Branson, Mo. 65616. They are open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Their number is (417) 334-9182.
Billy Gail’s
Like the other Branson restaurants I have mentioned this establishment is family owned and operated and is known as a classic by the Branson locals. After church on Sunday, you can find all of Branson seated in Billy Gail’s little gas station turned eclectic restaurant. The favorite dish by locals at Billy Gail’s? Pancakes so big they flop off the plate onto the table. Behind the red screen door of this log cabin restaurant, you will be welcomed by years of Ozark and old southern paraphernalia. The restaurant is much larger than it would first appear, and each room is decorated with mirrors, old farm tools, pictures, and anything else you can imagine finding stored away in your grandmother’s farmhouse. Besides the amazing pancakes, Billy Gail’s serves sandwiches, soups, even chili for those cold afternoons. And, best of all? Almost everything on the menu is under $10. Billy Gail’s is located off the beaten path and is a bit of a drive from Branson, but this is one stop you can’t afford to overlook. Billy Gail’s is located at 5291 Highway 265, Branson, Mo., 65616. Their phone number is (417) 338-8883.
The best thing to do when visiting Branson and not knowing where to eat, is to ask a local. Every Branson local will have a favorite place to get a great meal, and the locals usually know best. You will feel like a real Bransonite and get a great meal to boot.
