We locals know the Branson Christmas Lights are something special, but it’s nice to know the rest of the country thinks so too! Prominent TV shows and travel sites have been naming Branson, Missouri as a top 10 Christmas lights destination for many years, and 2011 is no exception!
It wasn’t too long ago that Good Morning America, the always popular morning show, named Branson and Silver Dollar City as one of the best places to see Christmas lights in America. It appears they weren’t alone in their opinion, as Yahoo Travel just named Branson Christmas Lights as one of the top 10 holiday light destinations in the country.
Yahoo Travel picked several of the area light shows as notable standouts. Silver Dollar City’s “An Old Time Christmas” was an obvious choice thanks to 4 million lights and over 1,000 decorated Christmas Trees – including the 5 Story Multimedia tree in the center of Main Street.
The Branson Area Festival of lights was named as a great place to drive through and see the lights, while Shepherd of the Hills Homestead earned their own accolades for a trip through the historic area, the millions of lights, and of course the incomparable view from the top of Inspiration Tower at night.
